From our rule

Our closeness to Jesus in prayer and sacrament, in word and work, in reflection and praxis, is not a metaphorical closeness. We must recognize his presence, his constancy, and realize his purpose in our lives, together with our brother and sister pilgrims. Only when we have turned to him, acknowledging our personal inadequacies and accepting the inconsistencies of each day, are we able to turn again and strengthen our sisters and brothers. We must constantly avail ourselves of his loving salvation if we are to practice his saving love.
